A new and purposeful hobby is good for all!
I have found something I have had all along, but it was left forgotten in the back garden shed for years, and years and years. It’s the one thing, that now I have grown up seems to be more appealing, and I’m using it more and more every day.
What is the magical object? A hulla hoop? No, my dear readers, I have found the wonders of cycling.
Edinburgh is such a difficult city to cycle in as travelling anywhere there is a hill - wether you like it or not, and way too often these hills are extremely steep. For a cyclist, you can imagine that is could be one of their worst nightmares.
The city council have done a lot, not to solve this problem, but to make it safer to cycle. They have increased the amount of cyclists on the road by double in recent years and also increased the visibility and awareness of cyclsts on the road by creating cycle lanes in high use areas. It’s great.
But the main reason for my use, it’s a way of exercise - of which I know I need much but however have been doing very little. It’s a great way to keep fit and a great way to travel. But last but not least - it’s a handy distraction, as I have many worries over some family members at this time.
Yesterday I bought some good stuff concerning cycle paths in Edinburgh, a great tool as I often get confused about certain paths in Edinburgh that I can take - and as the days get longer I have much more time on my hands, might as well use it productively!
Over and out.
